HEALTH & WELLNESS Programs

Supporting physical and social wellness is a critical part of what RAISE does for refugees and immigrants in Joplin, Missouri.

RAISE’s wellness support efforts are to provide access to existing healthcare services that are in the area, but generally inaccessible for limited-English speakers. We provide training and workshops on how to practice preventative health, access healthcare, insurance, civics and life skills and collaborate with other organizations to bring their expertise to those in need.

RAISE also facilitates activities that promote social wellness, including gym classes, art therapy, hiking, writing groups, trauma healing groups and more.

Education & Development

Education is the best way to help refugees and immigrants thrive within their new communities.

English has been and will always be a large part of our focus when educating refugees and immigrants, with providing ESL (English as a Second Language) education typically our primary focus. We also aim to comprehensively educate over time and help them sustain life in their new country.

Our focus is to educate refugees and immigrants to enable them to advocate for their interests and dreams.
